Good and Perfect Gifts

http://youtu.be/r9m_WClluOc?hd=1

God is GOOD! Jeremy preached this morning and he said something so wonderful. He said, "God gives us the gift of salvation when we don't deserve it. We are all beggars and blind. Salvation cannot be bought, it's not for sale, but it is a gift. Then He lays before us good works. AND THEN when we do the good works He has laid out before us he rewards us."

His mercy is good, His grace is good, His love is good, but so is His expectations for us. I posted a list of rules and expectations on our refrigerator last week for the kids. There is a rule or expectation, a scripture to go along with it, and a punishment if they disobey it. God has clearly laid out His rules and expectations for our lives. They are all clear in plain black and white in His letter to us (the Bible). He is a good parent who disciplines us when we don't obey or follow through. He also gives good gifts and blesses with spiritual blessings when we do obey. I took Lily, Sam, and Eli to Dairy Cream for ice cream for doing such a good job last week with our new chart. They were so excited to obey and they actually loved knowing exactly what was expected of them. How will we know what God expects of us if we don't pray and read our bible? Have you heard the still small voice of God calling you to do something GREAT for the Kingdom? There is much to be done, but there are few who are listening.

I linked a video of the creche we are adopting from. God has called all who are His to care for the fatherless, the poor, and the widow. If you will listen, hear, and obey you will be REWARDED!
