Suffer Not The Little Children

My heart is broken this morning for more reason's than one. My sweet friend delivered her baby this morning, at home, just her and her husband. The baby 14 weeks. It provoked in me so many thought's. First, the love the Father has for my friend, even in this He loves her with a great love. The frailty of life. A moment and this flesh is cold, stiff, and gone. We start to decay, turn back to dust.

The Lord calls children a blessing in His word. Do we treat them as such? A woman has a choice to kill her unborn, but when my friend chooses to have her womb open by the Lord and except's each child as a gift, she is considered strange. When we closed our womb, but God in His great mercy has chosen to bless us with children through adoption, we're crazy. Our thought's are in such opposition to Christ. His words, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. and whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18:2-5 Then in Matthew 19:14 Jesus laid His hands on the children and said,  "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." The kingdom belongs to children and you  must be like one to enter it. Why? Because children believe, they love, and they forgive.

I have been pondering, arrogance, unforgiveness, and pride. If we are to become like children we must lower ourselves, stop relying on our intellect, and believe. Believe in the foolishness of a wooden cross. Believe in the atonement that was made, the debt that was paid in full, and believe that He has the power to SAVE. When we become so arrogant in our knowledge and forget the simple gospel we become a Pharisee. Remember how they responded to Christ? They blasphemed Him, and killed HIM.

Children forgive. My children can be mad at each other one second and playing great the next. They forgive and forget the offense. The Bible gives a great example of how we are to forgive in the verses right before He brings the children to Him in Matthew 18:21-35, "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he ad be sold to repay the debt. "At this the servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. "But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. "His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.' "But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened. "Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of your because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' IN anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart." Forgiveness is not an option.....we must forgive!

Have you ever watched children at the park? They meet each other, total strangers, then run up and say that's my friend. Why can't we do this.....love people? Run up to a stranger and ask, "Will you be my friend?" We must show ourselves friendly to have friends.

I'm so thankful for my children! I want to savor every moment and become more like them.
