The Visible Church

I experienced the hands and feet of Christ this morning at church. We as a society have become so complacent in our church services, cold and indifferent to the working of the Holy Spirit of God. While reading A.W. Tozer and listening to many other pastors speak about the visible Church I began to think about what this meant. We have very little time on this round ball we call earth to make a difference in the Church and in the world, but it seems to me the Church as a whole is doing very little. We get up on Sunday and dress in our very best, head out the door, and sit stagnant in a pew for 2 hours maybe more. We soak up the word of God and it ends there. We leave and go about our everyday lives unchanged, untouched by the majesty of a Holy God. BUT today I was a part of the visible Church. We went to The Crossing and Jeremy stood up and shared what the Lord is doing in our lives and our desire to bring our child home from Haiti. Then my sweet friend Rachel stood before the congregation with a precious gift for us. She had stayed up all night preparing a big jug for us to collect money for our adoption. She had taken her time and wrapped it with colorful paper to represent our family rainbow. Then the message was preached and one by one people began to give. After Lily gave her savings the total was $147.44. In that small church I experienced true worship this morning. Not the worship of religion, but the worship of God. These people were loving us the way the Bible commands us to love. It wasn't about receiving a certain amount of tithe, or raising your hands to a certain song, it was Holy. Christ was represented at the little, run down, white church across from Wal-mart. God is not contained in buildings made with human hands, but He dwells in the hearts of His people. I'm so thankful He is showing Himself in such a mighty way.....to Him be the Glory!!!!!

P.S. The purpose of my blog is to glorify God and that is my only purpose!!!!
